  1. The Yankees’ Domingo German threw a perfect game Wednesday night in an 11-0 win over the Oakland A’s. It was the 24th perfect game in MLB history. 
  2. Former Bishop Amat assistant/ Sierra Vista head coach Matt Villasenor has joined Ben Buys’ coaching staff at La Salle. 
  3. Philadelphia 76ers guard James Harden has exercised his $35.6 million option for the 2023-24 season. The 76ers are expected to work with Harden on finding a trade. 
  4. The entire Gabrielino coaching staff resigned this week. Gabrielino is currently looking for a head coach. 
  5. The Lakers waived center Mo Bamba and did not pick up the option on guard Malik Beasley for next season. 
  6. The Angels’ Shohei Ohtani has hit 14 home runs in the month of June, a club record. 
  7. Isaiah Rodgers and Rashod Berry of the Indianapolis Colts and free agent Demetrius Taylor were suspended by the NFL indefinitely – through at least the 2023 season – for betting on NFL games. In addition Tennessee Titans offensive tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere was suspended for six games for betting on other sports at the workplace. 
  8. Quarterback Hype Grand, who has had at least 7 high school stops including Pasadena, Glendora and West Covina, has transferred out of his latest school, Saguaro High School (Scottsdale, AZ). 
  9. J.J. Watt, who retired after last season, is joining CBS Sports as an analyst. 
  10. The Baldwin Park 7 v 7/ Linemen Tournament on July 8 is set with 30 teams.

    They can do 100 passing tournaments once the pads come on you can throw all them 7 on 7 trophies out the window.

    Someday Ca. might pay high school head coaches a fair wage and here’s a novelty, a contract. With a walk on gig and basically no pay, unless you have a son on the team why stay? School shows you no loyalty so why expect it from HC’s? You get what you pay for.

    I see most teams are either playing in summer tournaments during the early days of June or in these July ones. I’m not seeing teams in both. When are teams like Baldwin Park taking their dead period? They’ve been to Chino Hills, Colony, Arroyo, and are now hosting one in July???
    Seems like overkill to me. 7 on 7 tournaments are nice and all but you don’t need this many. They aren’t real football.
