LaSellOuts … Anonymous… all See is a team with too much kids who underachieve year in year out.
screen shot any excuse you see me make… hold me accountable bc you know its me TheRanch18
cant say the same for you “anonymous” for all i know your one of them pet monkeys that learned our to type.. lol.. do they dress you up for gamedays?
HA RAnch18 ur a fool. U say the same thing every year. U might get a TD in the 4th against the 3rd string defense. They will put up over 50 points on ur sorry def. Then when you lose you’ll come up with your guys were hurt or our team was off blah blah blah.
@Anonymous – sounds like the shoe fits you. LMAO
Nobody making excuses over here… KEEP REACHING
@Anonymous
nobody is living in the past… trust
y’aLS just be ready 10/20/2023
Nope, stay on topic you idiot, not once did I make any statement about the greatness of that team, it was a statement of how the team was able to beat La Serna. Stop making stuff up.
So everyone’s a sellout while you make excuses for your sorry program. You are not the top dogs in the area. Try moving to the 605 league.
@Lorraine Saracen,
Burbank has everything to do with its you’re talking about bearing LS in 2014 to talk about how great of a team that was and to knock the current group. But then that same team you’re bragging on got bumped out of the 1st round by a team they were heavily favored to beat.
Last I checked, it’s a full high school football season; not just one game.
Let’s not get confused here guys
NOBODY is complaining, crying , or tbh even cares how they get players .
That’s out of our control … we can only control what’s in our camp
As for coaching , I’m glad everyone sees we have one of the best staff in the area…. KEEP THAT MEMORY if we are losing parents .
End of the day THE KIDS HAVE TO PLAY
2014 boys came out and put LS on heels … took advantage and didn’t look back …
Last season 6-4 was great for the team we had , if you see. The games you’d understand…. We need more horses .
Maybe if people stayed home and played at The Ranch we would be taking a diff story right now …
but I’ve been around HS sports and ER LONG ENOUGH …. Let me ask one question to all the SELLOUTS
Name one kid who went D1? By not staying home … I’ll wait
Todays social media , you can be at Pioneer and if your got D1 stuff …. You going D1 lol and you don’t need Anyone help … with todays camps … cmon man your joking yourself
ER clowns living in the past. Get better or shut up and get ready the loss.
I mean we are discussing LS vs ER so Burbank has 0 to do with the discussion, nice try though.
@Lorraine Saracen,
I agree. But what happened to ER vs Burbank in the playoffs? They wanted to punch back vs LS but not against Burbank??? That 2014 team may have beat LS but ultimately underachieved.
Speed, speed, speed…sounds like the sixties and Al Davis. Take a look at the modern game and you see nothing but SHORT passes, where QUICKNESS and precise route running get results. Old man Davis fired Shanahan for not clinging to his “stretch the field” philosophy, but times proved the geezer wrong.
What we need to find out is why? Why why why? you have a staff of that caliber why not come play for a staff like that, why aren’t Quarterbacks or Wide Receivers showing up in droves? Look up the numbers, some of the best numbers in the area year in year out. Is it that the ER staff doesn’t do the dirty stuff, is it because ER staff won’t make false promises, is it because the ER staff won’t guarantee incoming freshmen a spot on Varsity from the Jump? Is it that ER is too ghetto and not as “nice” as the school up on the hill? Is it because people want to be part of the winner and not build something that can compete with the winner. It’s 2023 if you want to play D1 college ball and you have size and speed you need film and you need to attend camps and show that your size and speed is D-1 caliber. ER can give you a ton of film running a spread offense so I question what is it that people are afraid of when it comes to ER. Truthfully it’s almost the perfect situation if I want numbers as a QB or Wide Receiver, isn’t that what all those QB’s working at Smith Park work so hard for?
Going back to that season LS was coming off a CIF title, they had a good amount of kids back however had to replace Frankie Palmer at QB. ER was coming off an avg 6-5 2013 campaign with a 1st rd playoff loss, going into that season LS was heavily favored to win the Del Rio League, Fred Robledo proclaimed it would be a cake walk for La Serna, that video can still be found on YouTube. La Serna had its typical heavy schedule, the week before LS played ER they beat D2 Rancho Cucamonga. If I can remember anything from that ER vs LS game was the fact that ER came out and punched La Serna in the mouth and showed we were not going to back down. ER sliced LS in the air but the key to that game was the defensive line harassing the LS QB all night long. Beating LS is not impossible, 2023 is no different than 2014 the players need to believe they can win and not back down. Open enrollment, Whittier all star team, don’t matter that wasn’t an excuse in 2014 and it shouldn’t be today. Punch back ER!!!
ER or LS history is exactly that history. If a Pico kid these days is a top talent he is going elsewhere. As are most kids that live in a D10-D15 zone. Todays game requires speed, speed and more speed. Coaches can’t teach that. Along with speed height is nice. Without it your edges are vulnerable and your pass defense impossible. ER has survived on pure grit because every year the team has little speed, no size, no height. They use smoke and mirrors. They never get a kid with D1 offers as a freshmen like Bonita and lose talent to the school up the hill all the time. I thought last seasons 6-5 was a terrific accomplishment. You can have a receiver run patterns all day long every day but without speed and height there are limits to what he can do. Truth is absolutely the best coaching is often at the lower levels. ER staff is one of the best.
El Rancho has won three CIF titles and participated in another that resulted in a loss. The school has almost always had a hard-nosed running game, but in those title years, the Dons had an excellent passing attack. The same dynamic held true in 2014, the last time ER was able to upend La Serna.
A solid passing game at the high school level doesn’t necessarily require D1 talent, but rather a receivers coach who can drill his guys in route running and timing to the point of perfection. That happened at the Ranch in 2014. That’s why La Serna lost league that year, and that’s the only way they’re ever going to go down again.
@Real El Rancho Don La Srn takes out their starters in the 3rd. You guys only able to score in the 4th qt. Look it up and youll see.
ER barely beat SF last year in OT and you guys think you’re going 10-0? I’ve been hearing that the “cupboard is bare” and that La Serna is a “sinking ship” every year and you guy’s are consistently wrong.
Worry about Don Lugo first guys, you’ll have your hands full with them let alone everyone else on your schedule.
I’m not holding my breath, but things are moving along I see it every day.
Wrong, if you want facts the bond was for $200 million. $99 for every $100k of property assessed values for the next 30 years. People were fully aware it was for a brand new school including brand new athletic facilities. Chino High school is almost done with their $200 million dollar brand new high school rebuild, so quit saying it is “impossible” it was possible but politics as always get in the way and our kids are used as pawns.
The 2017 bond measure was passed with the understanding that for $99 per household in extra taxes, the city would get an entirely new school. That didn’t happen, because that amount of taxes doesn’t come close to the required outlay. The statement on this thread that the voters specifically approved a stadium and pool job is erroneous; they voted for the fantasy of getting an awesome new school for almost nothing, which is impossible.
In 2008 Whittier passed a 75 million bond and built two very nice stadiums. They were completed in 2015-2016 respectively. A 200 million bond was approved by Pico Rivera tax payers in 2016. Over twice as big as the bond that built two stadiums in Whittier and they are having trouble getting one built. Is it any wonder why this stadium that folks voted for are questioning what has happened? How many fingers have been in the pie? La Mirada passed a 375 million dollar bond in 2014. They tore down the old stadium in 2019 and promised a stadium by 2021 then 2022 then 2023. Guess where La Mirada is playing home hames in 2023. At dilapidated Excelsior Adult School. So Don faithful don’t hold your breathe for a new promised stadium next year. To build those take longer than SoFi.
Yes, we voted on it in 2017 and have been paying for it since, at the very least let’s get our blue field and stadium out of it.
Pico Rivera property taxes will increase $99 for every 100K of assessed value. For example, if your home is assessed at 300K, you will pay an additional $297 per year for the blue field and swimming pool project. The sad thing is that new stadiums at Pioneer and Cal have resulted in those programs actually getting worse, not better. This is shocking but true. You can hope that ER’s football history will help to avoid a similar fate, but as I say, the only thing you can count on are those tax increases.
La Serna has a lot going for them. Coaching staff runs a tight ship from Varsity to frosh and it shows. Kids are committed, bought into the program which is proven with their consistency. George and company challenge the Lancers with rigid non-league schedules sometimes even I scratch my head. The Friday night light atmosphere is as good as it gets despite not having there own stadium credit asb. Parents, students and fans show up and travel well to away games. La Serna is competitive in all sports, if you’re a multi sport athlete it’s a great opportunity I’d have to admit.
Lies the dad of a Linebacker is housing a transfer from Fontana, the Middle Linebacker transferd from SF, a DB transfr from California and another from whittier. You can live in LaLa land and swear la Serna is squeaky clean, they are not. For those who want to talk about fat fans, la Serna has their very own 400 lb heavy D parent with raccoon eyez who stays aktiv on X. La Serna is a stronger program than ER but that still don’t change that everyone is fooled by their little act of being clean.
Prediction El rancho dons 8-2. I will not jinx my Bulldogs I have that matchup circled good luck dons .
Only delusional ones are your DELETED!!!!!!!!!!!!! Er might not beat La Serna this year but better believe your starters will be out there in the 4th qtr and our boys will be competing there DELETED off keeping it close .Your weaknesses are our strengths. Everyone knows y’all ain’t the same team from last year! And it’s a sinking ship from here on out. Our boys are all back and more experienced! Interesting scheduling that game before Er, that’s bold ! Oh the arrogance!!!!
LS competes the right way. Dosent need transfers or recruit. Great coaching gets the local kids to buy in, and stay at their home school. Old school football.
@Hopeful, agree with your statements on ER. As far as higher taxes city residents voted on it, I believe $99 a year added to their taxes, or something like that.
ER clowns at it again. You fools can’t compete with the LS Lancers. I can’t wait to hear the excuses this year. If you just shut up maybe you wouldn’t suck as much.
I was going back and forth between Monrovia and Mayfair to which will be the game Medrano and Medina will get the best out of this group and pull off an upset ! Had to go Mayfair being that it’s later in the season and coaches will have them rolling by then.
8-2 maybe 7-3 (Mayfair)
Don Lugo W
Bell Gardens W
Monrovia L
Montebello W
Mayfair W
West Covina W
Cal WIN !!!!!!
Whittier W
La Serna L
Santa Fe W
I saw 4 -way at Nogales ; organized and well put together , Nogales was excellent host!
Azusa looked thin in numbers ( low twenties) . I thought they would have more with Gladstone merger. QB was mobile and pretty good ; one nice LB but not much size
Nogales looked like their usual gritty and cohesive but somewhat undersized squad
Buena Park has some dudes and slick offensive scheme ; they dominated every matchup
King Drew has some big and athletic players particularly on D Line ; a little choppy on offense. One of their players went down with serious injury towards end of second segment ; play stopped for ambulance etc. The teams kinda played out the string after that sobering event .
Hope the young man is ok and recovering!
ER fans are delusional again lol
Any comments from any scrimmages seen tonite would be appreciated.
You’re right. Definitely not an easy schedule, some tough games lined up for ER.
Some of y’all need to chill with this 10-0 talk, we return a good amount of experienced players but it’s hard to replace a 4 year kid like Angel Diaz, that kind of leadership is hard to replace. ER did not look good vs a chino team that looked seasoned and strong. I’m confident that coach Medrano will have these boys ready, he respects the game enough to not take any game for granted. ER is a long way from beating La Serna. Get to work!!!!
At St. Paul he had the best teams money could buy.
The biggest boost to be had out of this stadium job is anticipation of great things that are right around the corner. The biggest bummer is when it’s finished, all that happens is higher property taxes. With emotions running high over getting something new, now is the time to strike. I’ll consider it a triumph if La Serna doesn’t automatically insert its subs for the second half. I’ll consider it a miracle if ER comes within two touchdowns of the Lancers.
A thought of clarity for all the rose colored glasses ER fans. Last year only a dropped pass by a Santa Fe 0-10 team and a OT field goal stopped Santa Fe from beating ER. And Santa Fe lost to everybody including the -48 rated Rosemead. So enjoy now but respect the game. Mayfair has D1 prospects but three stars transfered to Mater Dei and the like. Monrovia has the top QB in the area according to WDN. Lugo the top receiver in the inland empire. West Co is all the way back with Maggiore putting them back together. ER does not have one absolute sure win on this schedule. Your 9-1 could easily be 1-9.
Pete can’t beat ER? He beat them in 06 and 07
06- St Paul 28 ER 14
07- St. Paul 35 ER 0
Don Lugo- W (DL will not have all transfers cleared)
Bell Gardens- T( toss up – this rivalry is legendary)
Monrovia- L ( if Monrovia plays smart)
Montebello- W (pete cant beat ER)
Mayfair- W (toss up – Not too familiar but i know they lost some key players)
West Covina- T (toss up – both teams will be well coached and physical)
Cal- W ( ER already won this game in summer)
Whittier- W ( new coach, will be gritty but not enough yet)
La Serna- W ( LS DRL winning streak will be snapped – This is a rivalry under the radar and the FANS do not like each other
Santa Fe- W ( new coach needs more time)
Medrano teams will always come at your mouth, looking forward to see who the next playmaker will be .
this team is young but experienced and should 7-3 / 8-2 don’t be surprised if they go 9-1
no correction needed
the Whittier ALL STAR team looks very suspect this year. Personally was not impressed by yesterdays scrimmage vs Tustin
Don Lugo- W
Bell Gardens- W
Monrovia- W
Montebello- W
Mayfair- W
West Covina- W
Cal- W
Whittier- W
La Serna- WIN
Santa Fe- W
10-0 WE PLAY TO BEAT EVERYONE!
Just a few years ago ER was knocked for having don Lugo on schedule now Don Lugo is the flavor of the week and favored, better hope Monrovia doesn’t fall off the face of the earth the way Sierra vista did or ER will be knocked for that also. With that being said, ER will be deceptively good and is junior heavy with a lot of kids who played a lot last year.
I stand corrected.
*La Serna -L
Tank, it’s a little early in the morning but I’ll be drinking 😉
You have El Rancho beating La Serna! You are making me laugh!
You have incorrectly listed the La Serna game as an ER win. All democrats will love Trump before that happens.
FBF, you been drinking again?
Don Lugo- L

5-5. D-9 or 10. Tough pre-season schedule so I’m not putting them in the bottom divisions.
