  1. Mark Brownstead has stepped down as the head football coach at Azusa. The Aztecs finished 5-5 and missed the playoffs in 2023. 
  2. The Texas Rangers beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 11-7 Tuesday night to take a 3-1 lead in the World Series.
  3. The Clippers acquired James Harden and two other players from the Philadelphia 76ers for Marcus Morris, Robert Covington, Nic Batum, KJ Martin and five total draft picks in 2028 and ’29. 
  4. The Minnesota Vikings acquired quarterback Joshua Dobbs from the Arizona Cardinals Tuesday following the loss of Kirk Cousins for the season.
  5. The Las Vegas Raiders fired head coach Josh McDaniels and GM Dave Ziegler late Tuesday. Antonio Pierce will take over as interim head coach.  
  6. Arcadia pitcher/ first baseman Gabe Lopez has committed to Cal State Dominguez Hills. 
  7. Frank Howard, a four-time All-Star who won a World Series with the Dodgers in 1963, passed away at the age of 87. Howard hit 382 home runs during a 16-year career and he also won the NL Rookie of the Year award with the Dodgers in 1960.           
  8. The Detroit Lions improved to 6-2 with a 26-14 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football. 
  9. The Buffalo Bills acquired veteran cornerback Rasul Douglas and a 2024 fifth-round pick from the Green Bay Packers for a 2024 third-round pick.

    The Clippers have rolled the dice, and they’re still rolling as the team is betting heavily on Harden to bring a championship THIS year. Zillionaire owner Steve Ballmer needs a big splash to open his nearly-completed arena in Inglewood, and an NBA title fits that bill nicely.
