  1. The Rams beat the New Orleans Saints 30-22 on Thursday Night Football to improve to 8-7 on the season. 
  2. Former San Gabriel head football coach Kevin Encinas, who led the Matadors to a CIF Championship in 2022, has joined Matt Villasenor’s staff at Nogales as offensive coordinator. 
  3. Fred Gambrell, who was the defensive coordinator at San Clemente last year, has been named the new head football coach at Sunny Hills. 
  4. USC quarterback Miller Moss said he is returning to the program regardless of what the Trojans do recruiting quarterbacks in the transfer portal. 
  5. The Dodgers and Star Japanese right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto agreed to a 12-year, $325 million contract Thursday night.  
  6. UCLA Men’s basketball, which lost to Cal State Northridge 76-72 Tuesday night, has started the season 5-5. 
  7. The Detroit Pistons have lost 25 straight games and are 2-26 overall.  
  8. South Florida beat Syracuse 45-0 in the Roofclaim.com Boca Raton Bowl Thursday night. 
  9. On this date in 2019 Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas set an NFL record for catches in a season with his 144th as New Orleans beat the Tennessee Titans 38-28. 
  10. Happy Birthday to former Dodgers first baseman Steve Garvey who turns 75 today.

    Some might say Miller Moss is ballast on the Troy roster. I say to each his level of accomplishment…the kid tots a mean clipboard.
