  1. MLB Playoffs Results – AL Wildcard Series: Detroit beat Houston 2-0, Kansas City beat Baltimore 2-0. NL Wildcard Series: San Diego beat Atlanta 2-0, New York Mets beat Milwaukee 2-1. 
  2. The Dodgers will face San Diego in the NLDS with Game 1 set for Saturday at Dodger Stadium. 
  3. The Atlanta Falcons beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 36-30 in overtime on Thursday Night Football. Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins threw for 509 yards.
  4. The Kansas City Chiefs placed receiver Rashee Rice on the injured reserve list which means he will be out at least four games. 
  5. Downey quarterback Oscar Rios is de-committing from Purdue and will continue the recruitment process.
  6. Cal Preps, the High School Football site which had ceased operations last Sunday due to a dispute with CBS, has settled and is back up and running.  
  7. Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark was named WNBA Rookie of the Year. 
  8. Former San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey, three-time World Series winner, has taken over as president of baseball operations for the team after Farhan Zaidi was fired. 
  9. The San Dimas Girls Flag Football team beat Colony in a doubleheader Wednesday 39-0 and 25-14. 
  10. La Canada (5-0) vs. Temple City (5-0), Friday night 7:00 p.m. at San Marino.
