Lam Leads Rams into Quarterfinals

(Temple City) – Dylan Lam scored 29 points including 18 in the fourth quarter to lead Temple City to a 56-50 win over Brea Olinda Friday night in the second round of the CIF Division 5 playoffs.

Temple City entered the fourth quarter down 32-29 and outscored Brea Olinda 27 18 in the final frame with Lam leading the way. He knocked down three three-pointers and hit seven of eight shots from the free throw line.

Brea Olinda got within four with 54 seconds left but the Rams were able to hit their free throws and hold on for the victory. Lam nailed the last four points at the line to ice it.

Temple City got off to a hot start as well. Lam hit three from beyond the arc as well and scored 11 in the in the first quarter. Brayden Kwon also hit a pair of buckets in the first as the Rams led 15-9 after one.

Temple City maintained the lead in the second quarter to lead 25-18 at halftime. Mason Collins scored five points for the Rams in the second.

Brea Olinda got back in it in the third quarter. Logan Severson buried a couple of threes and the Wildcats held Temple City to just four points in the quarter and outscored the Rams 14-4 to take a three-point lead heading into the fourth.

After Lam’s 29 Kwon and Collins each scored eight points for Temple City. Severson led Brea Olinda with 16 and Nick Chamberlain was also in double figures with 10.

The Rams (19-7) now move on to the Quarter Finals where they will meet Pilibos Tuesday night. Brea Olinda finishes the season with an overall record of 14-16.
