  1. The Lakers lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder 139-96 Thursday night.
  2. Two-time All-Pro cornerback Stephon Gilmore announced his retirement from the NFL after 13 seasons. Gilmore was drafted by Buffalo and played with the Bills for five years. He spent the next four seasons with New England and won a Super Bowl with the Patriots in 2018 and was the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2019.
  3. The Cincinnati Bengals signed free agent safety Kyle Dugger to a one-year contract. Dugger, 30, had 59 tackles and two interceptions with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New England Patriots last season.
  4. Charter Oak’s Frankie Robles is batting .577 (30 for 58) with 13 RBI and 17 runs scored in 16 games this season.
  5. Upland quarterback Lequand Jackson has transferred to Baldwin Park. Jackson threw for 1,912 yards and ran for 425 yards as a junior last season.
  6. Kansas men’s head basketball coach Bill Self announced Wednesday that he is going to return for the 2026-’27 season.
  7. The LA Kings currently have 78 points – eighth place in the Western Conference. The Anaheim Ducks have 87 points -tied for fourth in the Western Conference.
  8. Lakers star Luka Doncic left Thursday night’s loss to Oklahoma City in the third quarter with a strained left hamstring and will undergo an MRI Friday.
  9. Former Dodgers star Reggie Smith turns 81 today.
  10. Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani is batting .167 with 0 home runs and 0 RBI in the first six games.
