Orange Wins Battle for SGV at Arcadia

St. Paul quarterback Joshua Villalta and the Swordsmen advanced to the Finals at the Arcadia Tournament before falling to Orange.

(Arcadia) – Orange beat St. Paul 24-12 in the Finals to win the Battle for the SGV Tournament at Arcadia Saturday. Orange beat Temecula Valley in the Semi-Finals to advance while St. Paul knocked off Arcadia.

    Why would a private school and a school that recruits D-1 athletes go to this event?
    D5: Orange, St. Paul
    D8: Temecula Valley
    D10: El Rancho
    D11: Ayala
    D14: Alhambra, Arcadia, Arroyo, Rosemead, SEM, Workman, Gabrielino

    St Paul and Orange were the only D5-7 teams in a tournament filled with D13-14 teams . Sharks in a pool of guppies….. confidence builder ? Sure … indicator of success in tough league ? Not so fast , my friend.

    Good to see St Paul make a good showing at this event. Of course, time will tell about the team’s line and linebacking play. Best of luck to all concerned.
