Fernando Noreiega, who played football for El Monte before graduating in 2009, has been recognized as the Professional Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year for his work with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Noriega, who is entering his fifth year as the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Eagles, led a strength and conditioning staff in 2024 that contributed to Philadelphia having all but one of its 22 Week One starters available to play in Super Bowl LIX. In the 2022 Super Bowl LVI appearance, the team had all Week One starters available.
Noriega is also set to begin his second year as the director of player performance and sports science for the Eagles.
Noriega played for head football coach Joel Sanchez at El Monte. Sanchez is now an assistant at Charter Oak. Press release below.
