(El Monte) – After losing last week to South El Monte and with Arroyo looming on the horizon the El Monte hopes for a Mission Valley League title looked dim. But the Lions turned the lights back on and the hopes were renewed as they ran over the Knights 42-32 Friday night at B.L. Bergstrom Stadium.

(El Monte) – Paul Rodriguez has stepped down as the head football coach at Mt. View. He was asked to resign after allowing a player to participate in a game who was not cleared from a previous injury according to multiple sources.

There were only two losses in the Top 12. Bishop Amat lost to fall to 2-5 and out of the rankings while San Dimas fell to Number 4 Northview. Number 1 Damien rallied to get a huge win over Upland while La Canada moved into the Top 12 with another lopsided win in the Rio Hondo League.
