(El Monte) – Arroyo jumped out to a big lead in the first half but then had to hang on to beat Rosemead 53-49 Monday night on Senior Night at Arroyo. With the victory Arroyo moved into sole possession of first place in the Mission Valley League.

(Azusa) – Azusa Pacific had a one run lead after seven innings but Cal Poly Pomona scored three runs in the eighth inning and two in the ninth to beat the Cougars 9-5 in the nightcap of a doubleheader Saturday. APU also lost the first game in a slugfest 21-13 and were swept in the three-game series.

(Montebello) – David Ramos has returned as the head football coach at Schurr he confirmed Friday. Ramos, who stepped away from the head coaching position for one year, replaces Austin Montoya who resigned Thursday to take over as the head coach at St. Paul.
