South El Monte will compete in the Alliance League of the MAC 12 Conference. We’ve posted this information before but as the season approaches here’s another look at the updated conference and leagues for football in the Foothill Area.

By Tim Peterson (Arcadia) – Former Arcadia baseball standout Avery Truesdale, 19, passed away on Wednesday July 15. Truesdale, 19, played three years of varsity baseball at Arcadia High School and graduated in 2025.

Mt. SAC Area Football League Updates

Glendora will compete in the six-team Sierra League. There are several football leagues in the CIF Southern Section area that have been updated or realigned for the 2026 season. We have mentioned the MAC 12 and the Rio Hondo/ Pacific League changes before and will revisit that.

Ganesha’s Schmidt Drafted in Second Round by Cleveland

Ganesha’s Logan Schmidt was drafted in the second round of the MLB draft by the Cleveland Guardians. By Tim Peterson (Pomona) – Logan Schmidt, a 6’4″, 210-pound left-hander out of Ganesha, has been drafted in the second round (number 59 pick overall) by the Cleveland Guardians in the MLB draft.

El Monte’s Noriega Receives Professional Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year Award
