Corin Berry and Charter Oak still sitting at number 3 after a running clock win over Claremont.
Everybody in the Top 12 won last week except for Rio Hondo Prep which had a bye and La Canada which dropped to number 12. Charter Oak showed it is the team to beat in the Sierra League. Huge wins for Bishop Amat and Damien. Los Altos and Rowland just keep on rolling.
- Damien (6-1) – Malachi McFarland leads a big bounce back win over Etiwanda.
- Downey (6-1) – Vikings drop 67 on La Mirada.
- Charter Oak (6-1) – JD Sanchez runs for three scores in rout of Claremont.
- Muir (6-1) – Muir continues to cruise in the Pacific.
- Northview (6-1) – Northview in control in the Valle Vista.
- Bishop Amat (4-3) – Lancers surprise Notre Dame as they battle in the Mission.
- Rio Hondo Prep (7-0) – Kares enjoy the week off as they prepare to run the table.
- Bonita (4-3, 5-2 on the field) – Bearcats dispatch of Glendora, Claremont next.
- La Serna (5-3) – It hasn’t been easy but Lancers still winning.
- Los Altos (7-0) – Conquerors move up a notch with rout of Covina.
- Rowland (7-0) – Undefeated Raiders finally begin league play this week.
- La Canada (7-1) – Spartans suddenly in must win situation this week against Monrovia.
Let’s not overlook the real possibility that EDISON gave several of its top players the night off when they played La Serna. The idea that looking weak gets you paired with easy playoff opponents isn’t just for the kids of Friend Hills; it’s a fun strategy for everyone to enjoy.
Help settle an argument Mr Peterson because I know you guys get around. What program in your coverage area has the highest home attendance in your estimation
@jimmy the greek
Coach sit guys for inappropriate behavior? Cleary you don’t know the HC lmao.
It is interesting how a LS team that historically, in the last decade or longer, is not running clock these league teams by half time anymore. Wonder why… but hey George got is 100th win so I guess there’s that!
La Serna would never try to game the system would they? Maybe coach sat some guys for inappropriate behavior.
@NSR ….. Agree these results look funny ? How don you defeat Edison and then only beat Santa Fe by two touchdowns ? Doesn’t really compute …. Current playoff format with divisions formed post season promotes this type of inquiry into
Point shaving . It’s the smart way to
Play the current system and it’s a crying shame !
La Serna’s performance of late means they are either deficient in lineplay or else just plain faking ineptitude to get a gravy playoff seeding. We know this team historically lays down in league, and this year the act may be getting intense because coach George knows he would get slaughtered in D4 or D5.
