Corin Berry and Charter Oak still sitting at number 3 after a running clock win over Claremont.
Everybody in the Top 12 won last week except for Rio Hondo Prep which had a bye and La Canada which dropped to number 12. Charter Oak showed it is the team to beat in the Sierra League. Huge wins for Bishop Amat and Damien. Los Altos and Rowland just keep on rolling.
- Damien (6-1) – Malachi McFarland leads a big bounce back win over Etiwanda.
- Downey (6-1) – Vikings drop 67 on La Mirada.
- Charter Oak (6-1) – JD Sanchez runs for three scores in rout of Claremont.
- Muir (6-1) – Muir continues to cruise in the Pacific.
- Northview (6-1) – Northview in control in the Valle Vista.
- Bishop Amat (4-3) – Lancers surprise Notre Dame as they battle in the Mission.
- Rio Hondo Prep (7-0) – Kares enjoy the week off as they prepare to run the table.
- Bonita (4-3, 5-2 on the field) – Bearcats dispatch of Glendora, Claremont next.
- La Serna (5-3) – It hasn’t been easy but Lancers still winning.
- Los Altos (7-0) – Conquerors move up a notch with rout of Covina.
- Rowland (7-0) – Undefeated Raiders finally begin league play this week.
- La Canada (7-1) – Spartans suddenly in must win situation this week against Monrovia.
Sorry, my source was distracted by the Smurf Turf.. Turns out it wasn’t the 7th stringers, nor was it 7th graders like I thought, turns out it was 7 year olds that LS used to beat El Rancho.
Either that or he said 7 yr olds watch a cartoon called the Smurfs. It was kinda loud so I’m not sure. Maybe he said the La Serna players were 7 yrs old that last time El Rancho beat La Serna. That would make sense since it was 11 yrs ago. 😂
And if you haven’t figured out by now that I’m not being serious, you might want to
re-evaluate the kind of education they gave you on the Ranch.
That is funny, every starter was in the game until the last play, how dare the la Serna d4 juggernaut let a little ole D11 team give them a battle like that. 1st rd exit for the lanceritos coming.
@Al Bundy went 4 for 4
Congrats.
Wow, so La Serna got I transfer from the IE, who was originally from Hawaii, and had another player that grew up in Whittier transfer back to LS during his Sr year after he had played for LS as a frosh & sophomore.
Gee, you really broke this recruiting scandal wide open.
Here it is folks, during La Serna’s 15 years of dominance from 2010-present, 1 kid from the IE moved to Friendly Hills and played for LS.
Man at that pace, LS might get another big time transfer before the 2040 season!!
++++
Shaking my head, “They go on and on crying and whining about a school supposedly recruiting transfers being the reason why they have dominated for the last 15 years,……….and their evidence of all this alleged scandal turns out to be………..
1 guy (who sat out 5 games under CIF transfer rules)
Bwawhwaaaahhaaa
You can’t make this stuff up
El Rancho Smurfs have severe TDS
Transfer delusion syndrome
😂
#Proof LS does things
#the right way
Correction. Yup that was indeed wrong info, so it turns out it wasn’t the 7th string, it was 7th graders from Hillview Middle School and East Whittier that LS played the 2nd half with to beat El Rancho.
Glad the source corrected his info.
Go Huskies!
@LSTuggernaught
You heard wrong… 7th string and playing freshman in the second half? lmfao. Yeah, okay. Starters were still in the game at that time so your source must’ve been “I made it tf up”
And yeah the idea that LS doesn’t recruit is laughable. They ain’t putting kids up in homes but they sure as hell aren’t playing with just homegrown kids. To believe that is to be completely ignorant.
I personally beat LS 4 out of 4 years, one time we even scored 35 in 1 quarter on them. Those butt kickings along with the 81-12 victory by West Covina triggered the friendly hills people to start dropping bags so their school board would let them take the rest of the districts talent. How else does a team magically get a qb transfer cleared in week 8, or a player to magically transfer in from Summit when his family lives in Hawaii. The right way you say? Sure if paying for it is the right way then it must be the right way. Everyone knows who the bag man is up there, people are just naive, LS is as dirty as anyone..
@ER smurfette
I ain’t gonna lie. I am still a little pissed about how the El Rancho vs La Serna match-up went over the past 2 decades.
I mean how in the funk did La Serna lose 2 of those 22 game to the Blue Turf Smurfs of El Ranchito.
I guess 20-2 vs ER is pretty solid though.
No team is perfect.
#The right way is pretty close
Still jeolous of ER.. BTW has a coach ever got less notice for 100 wins than LS’s. It is because those wins come with a bunch of DELETED
What are you talking about? You guys bring in ringers from out of state.
@?
Heading into the new league next year, do you think La Serna should start recruiting kids outside the Whittier area community like Downey, Warren, La Mirada, La Habra, etc have all done for years bringing in athletes from the Long Beach, Compton, Inglewood areas etc.
I think you have to keep up with Jones’s, so it’s probably time for La Serna to start mixing in some outside talent with their hometown community talent they have been winning with. If they are gonna put you in one of the best league’s in CIF, you probably need to do what the other teams in your league do.
So I’d be ok with it, as long as the do it the La Serna way, the right way!
@Try Some Deodorant
If you win any of the top 6 CIF-SS FB Divisions, you’ve won a completely legit CIF title.
Win a D7 thru D9 Title and ok it counts.
Win a Double Digit D10-D14 Equity title and you can claim you are the best of the worst teams in CIF-SS. So a participation trophy, nothing more.
@That Blue Turf Smurf B.O. Smell
After his team threw 15 interceptions against La Serna in just the 3rd Qtr alone of El Rancho’s 111th straight loss to La Serna, alleged offensive guru Coach Medraino was asked if he was tanking for Div.14 and he didn’t confirm or deny this as he didn’t answer, but luckily the reporter was able to translate his non verbal answer telepathically, and here are his thoughts;
Tank? You can’t tank when you’re already at the bottom, besides Pioneer owns D14, it’s too tough, so we are hoping CIF creates a Blue Turf only Div. this year called PeeWee Smurf Turf Div. 15, so the Dons can compete for an equity title vs other teams that also typically stink.
@Low Profile
I heard from a source that La Serna played nothing but their 7th string, mostly Freshmen, against SF and ER in the 2nd half, so you may be onto something with your playoff conspiracy theories.
That source though is about as reliable or credible as some random El Rancho guy crying about something that probably didn’t even happen in the LS game, so take it for what it’s worth.
Nice layout on La Serna’s CIF journey. Now tell me if it’s possible to fudge your way into an easier postseason spot or not, and if it isn’t human nature to take what’s available (the easy way out). With the current incentives to engineer a playoff destination, every seeding outside of D1 is suspect. Just like our monetary system, where some money is hard earned and other money is fabricated out of thin air, some CIF playoff runs are the real deal (RHP comes to mind) while others are a charade.
How many of lS starters live in their attendance area the last 10 years? You can buy winning teams. Ask the Dodgers.
….With their lowest playoff Div. being Div 6.
Amazingly yes.
Crazy that it doesn’t matter if it’s Div 3 thru Div 6, or the old Southeast Division, whatever division La Serna gets put in over the last 14 years that CIF playoffs were held, La Serna has wound up playing for a CIF Championship 50% of those years (7 of 14) years. #Kingdom.
But best of luck to you in the lowly Double Digit playoff division battle to be the best of the worst football teams in CIF-SS, and out of 373 high schools you can claim you are #339 and your coach is a genius/LOL.
@Sports Man
What you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

LOW AND SMELLY ANONYMOUS ‘are the most intelligent bloggers concerning high school football everything’! yep everything; nothing they do not know! i saw la serna beat edison because my long time best friend has a grandson on edison! You know Edison is the team who sat out important players so they could lose to a very good team and move down in playoff level? They freaking just won cif (and state possibly D3 last year) last year and now they must try to lose games to a team that won state receently ? Oh i should apologize to all of you for not having your super high intelligence of this focus. How so many consistently think they know what is happening is embarrassing to myself to even debate with farm league comments. I am not in the triple a but i am not a farm leaguer who truly thinks they are , or could be, much better than George and all others you insult! Ever consider for a millisecond LS wanted to get second and possibly third stringers to play .? Why should they? Because ‘know it alls’ these kids will give much better effort during the week on scout offense and scout defensive practice field preparation! This is exactly why coaches put them in toward ends of games Weirdos! And their parents put lots of money into program too; keep kids hapyp
You end your post correctly Sports Man.”Huh”?
Someone is ‘not smelling right!’ , and it is not La Serna’s Coach George. What do you suggest they have to do to end this silly critiism? Ridiculous it is suggesting George has zero respect for his players, individually and as a team! OH YEAH you could be a better head coach. Self appointed genius head coach ‘ huh
Let’s not overlook the real possibility that EDISON gave several of its top players the night off when they played La Serna. The idea that looking weak gets you paired with easy playoff opponents isn’t just for the kids of Friend Hills; it’s a fun strategy for everyone to enjoy.
Help settle an argument Mr Peterson because I know you guys get around. What program in your coverage area has the highest home attendance in your estimation
@jimmy the greek
Coach sit guys for inappropriate behavior? Cleary you don’t know the HC lmao.
It is interesting how a LS team that historically, in the last decade or longer, is not running clock these league teams by half time anymore. Wonder why… but hey George got is 100th win so I guess there’s that!
La Serna would never try to game the system would they? Maybe coach sat some guys for inappropriate behavior.
@NSR ….. Agree these results look funny ? How don you defeat Edison and then only beat Santa Fe by two touchdowns ? Doesn’t really compute …. Current playoff format with divisions formed post season promotes this type of inquiry into
Point shaving . It’s the smart way to
Play the current system and it’s a crying shame !
La Serna’s performance of late means they are either deficient in lineplay or else just plain faking ineptitude to get a gravy playoff seeding. We know this team historically lays down in league, and this year the act may be getting intense because coach George knows he would get slaughtered in D4 or D5.
