Anthony White is all smiles as his football career at Temple City begins
Great weather and 70 to 75 players has a tendency to make things nice in May, and things are very nice at Temple City.
After a winter of searching, drama, anger, frustration, it is back to business as usual in the Home of the Camellias.
“You know a lot of my coaching staff is from other areas,” said new Rams head coach Anthony White. “They don’t know this area as well, so I told
them if we are able to beat Arroyo we’d shock the world.”
White has four out of five offensive linemen returning, a solid crop of underclassman, and four candidates for the quarterback job.
“We’re not even in helmet and pads yet,” White said in regards to naming starters. “I’ve been impressed with Max Ruckle, he’s even better than I thought.”
Ruckle, the team’s offensive leader at tailback a year ago, will be seeking a second consecutive 1,000-yard season in 2009.
With four in the mix at quarterback the Rams will be highly involved in passing leagues over the summer. Traditionally what had been an occasional toss
around with Gabrielino, will now turn into 12 different passing contests in June and July.
