(San Marino) – La Canada pitchers held San Marino in check and the Spartans offense did just enough to beat the Titans 3-2 Friday in a key Rio Hondo League contest at San Marino High.
With the victory La Canada improved to 9-1 in league and the Spartans are in sole possession of first place.
La Canada got one in the second inning when Benji Geller walked, Ross Piken was hit by a pitch and Brandon Mohaghegh beat out a bunt for a hit to load the bases. Geller then scored on a base hit by Will Park.

The Spartans made it 2-0 in the third when Ethan Wong walked and Geller singled. After a hit batter and a fielder’s choice Geller scored from third on a single by Aydn Chidester.
