High School Final Four: Mid-Valley Division

(L-R) Stephen Anderson, George Flynn and Jeff Worthy of Whittier Christian looking forward to a rematch with Village Christian in the Final Four

It went as expected. No I didn’t think San Dimas would beat Maranatha by 36 points but I did expect the Saints to win. It was the same thing with Village Christian over Rosemead. Crusaders win? Yes. 34-0? No.

Close wins by Whittier Christian and Monrovia over Covina and Schurr respectively was how I saw it. It doesn’t happen very often so I can sound off. I was 4-0 in “Game Night” for the Mid-Valley games. Here’s how the Final Four stacks up.

1. Monrovia – Wildcats ace first test in six weeks.

2. Whittier Christian – Heralds’ defense rises to the occasion.

3. San Dimas – Saints playing best football at opportune time.

4. Village Christian – Crusaders relishing Cinderella role.
