(Burbank)- The Bulldogs got three touchdowns from Teddy Arlington and two from James Williams to rout the visiting Tornadoes, 48-7 on Friday night.
The Pacific League opener for both schools started with Hoover at 2-1 and Burbank at 1-2. Both are .500 now.
In a contest dominated by the running backs, it was Arlington with 189 yards and two touchdowns rushing, and a third on a 26-yard pass from Ryan Meredith that sparked the Bulldogs. He was joined by teammate Williams who cleared 126 yards rushing and a pair of rushing touchdowns, including a 53-yard gallop to paydirt.
For the Tornadoes it was the resurrected Jesse Pina who powered his way to 105 yards and his team’s only score. Pina, who made a splash playing wide receiver in 2010 and then sat out all of 2011, has rushed for 396 yards and seven touchdowns through four games this season.
