Panthers Rally Beats View

(El Monte) – Rosemead rallied from a 28-14 deficit to beat Mt. View 35-28 Thursday night. The Panthers finished the season 2-3 in the Mission Valley League and 4-6 overall. The Vikings ended the 2012 campaign at 0-5 and 3-7.

Tied at 14 in the third quarter, Nacho Zamora scored twice for the Vikings, one of which was a 35 yard run for a touchdown to put Mt. View up 28-14 heading into the fourth quarter. Zamora also had a 65 yard touchdown scamper in the second quarter to give the Vikes a 14-7 advantage.

Rosemead battled back in the fourth when Jesse Audelo scored from four yards out. After recovering a Viking fumble, the Panthers got even on a five yard touchdown run.

With 2:30 left in the contest, Everado Camacho connected with Steven San Miguel on a 50 yard touchdown strike for the game winner. San Miguel stumbled but managed to stay on his feet and take it to the house.

The Vikings had one last shot but were denied when a fourth and long play failed with 18 seconds left.
