8.) On this date in 2007 La Puente defeated Duarte 10-7 at home. Garrett Hrey’s 44-yard touchdown pass to Carlos Rios in the first quarter paced the Warriors. HC Ray Hernandez also got a 17 tackle performance from Steven Barrientos, who also blocked a field goal attempt. The Falcons got 203 yards rushing from Chris Harris but little else. It snapped a seven game winning streak for Duarte.
9.) Arroyo qualifies for the CIF playoffs for the 29th consecutive year.
