(South El Monte) – Oscar Lopez fired a five-hit shutout to lead Arroyo to a 3-0 win over South El Monte Wednesday on the Eagles home field.

Lopez, who also shut out the Eagles 1-0 on March 25th, struck out and five and walked just one en route to the victory.

Anthony Mata went six for South El Monte and Max Pineda came on to finish up. But the Eagles were unable to muster any offense against Lopez.

With the victory the Knights moved into a tie for first place with South El Monte in the Mission Valley League. Both teams are 6-2 with four league games remaining. But Arroyo has beaten South El Monte in both meetings.
