Pacific League
Burbank (4-3) at Arcadia (4-3)
Both teams are 3-1 in league and need a victory to stay on track. Arcadia gave Burroughs all it could handle while Burbank is still trying to make up for that loss to Muir. Another possible shootout but the Apaches still come up short. Burbank gets the road win.
Burbank 34 Arcadia 31
Crescenta Valley (5-2) at Pasadena (4-3)
CV still trying to keep pace also coming in at 3-1. The Falcons should have no problems here. The Falcons put Pasadena to sleep early.
Crescenta Valley 35 Pasadena 7
San Gabriel Valley League
Downey (4-3) at Warren (6-1)
Warren is on the rise having won six of seven and two straight in league. Downey however is still the cream of the crop. The Vikings already beat Dominguez and Lynwood. Warren is simply the next victim.
Downey 31 Warren 17
Dominguez (4-3) at Lynwood (4-3)
Dominguez got a big win over Paramount last week and still looks good for second in the SGV. Don’t look for the Dons to suffer a let down here. They’ll take the wood to Lynwood.
Dominguez 28 Lynwood 6
Suburban League
Mayfair (6-2) vs. Glenn (0-7) at Bellflower
Mayfair has its eyes firmly locked on second place in the Suburban. The Monsoons will rain on Glenn. This one could get ugly early. If massacres were illegal Mayfair might get arrested. Mayfair…big.
Mayfair 45 Glenn 6
Del Rio League
Saturday October 24
La Serna (5-2) vs. California (2-5)
This game looked good a couple of weeks ago. Cal’s loss to Santa Fe took off some of the luster. La Serna is locked in. The Lancers aren’t about to let the Condors get in their way of a Del Rio crown. Lancers light it up.
La Serna 42 California 14
Angelus League
Cathedral (7-0) at St. Francis (4-3)
Despite St. Francis three straight losses (two in Angelus League) this one could still be a good one. Cathedral is unbeaten but is not overpowering. St. Francis will be playing like a man gasping for his last breath. The Golden Knights are desperate. St. Francis fighting like a caged lion will battle to the final gun. But in the end the Phantoms have too much talent. Cathedral close.
Cathedral 24 St. Francis 21
Saturday October 24
La Salle (4-3) at Harvard-Westlake (5-2)
After a big win over St. Francis last week Harvard-Westlake needs to avoid the trap. La Salle could be just the team to upset the apple cart. The Lancers will give the Wolverines all they want, but Harvard-Westlake recovers late to secure the win.
Harvard -Westlake 27 La Salle 24
