After reading all these posts, I’m not sure Winchell will be the next coach, but it’s definitely going to be my next donut. I’m all-CIF in the cinnamon roll and twist division.

Chino Hills job is also open but what HC is willing to risk his teaching job if they might fire him after a few games?

Coach Winchell coached my nephew at Santa Fe in the late 1990s and ended up coaching both my sons at La Serna. Both of my boys were linemen for him, all 3 of them would go through a wall for him. Santa Fe would be lucky to have Coach Winchell as their next head coach.

So because of one dumbass dad/fan who came from St Paul, the entire fan base is labeled “bad?” 99.9% of the fan base has supported him 100% during his entire tenure here and know better than to criticize a coach when they aren’t the ones who drop balls or miss tackles. You’re a joke and always have the stupidest takes.

    @Elrancho,

Stupid comment??? Ok I’ll answer your question with a question. How many successful coaches have their family be escorted out of the stadium after a loss by security for their safety? Id say that’s bad fans.

The coaching carousel starts in earnest today. In non Covid years it starts in December but in the season of Covid it starts in late April. That means it should be a free for all out there with the schools holding all the cards to get the coach they want and time is incredibly shortened. If Pioneer was able to attract a name coach imagine Santa Fe. That job should be filled by May but probably before April is over. I know a lot of HC’s are looking for a fresh landing spot and Santa Fe is a plum. Santa Fe has already extended feelers out there so there is no need to fly the job on coaching jobs . edu

Villasenor – needs to be at a private school so he can do the things he does, most public school districts tend to go with the conservative choices, I get the feeling he’s out at SV because you can only stir the pot so much until things get out of control.

Medrano – is at his Alma mater, is the AD, he may not have the new stadium because of politics but his fan base is supportive in spite of having 1 or 2 bad apples, not the time for him to leave IMO, for the first time in his tenure at ER he will bring back the majority of his team.

White – I know he wants to coach again, not sure if this is the right spot, I get the feeling SF has gone conservative ever since the issue in 2017 with all the recruits, same issue with villasenor.

    Beltran – doubt it

    Clarke – doubt it

Winchell – this could be their next head coach.

Okay let’s start the potential replacements! Lots of $ involved

Villasenor- It’s been widely stated that the father/son duo will be moving on real soon.

Medrano- No new stadium & bad fans. Same league, more pay.

White- Has been sitting at home just waiting for the right opportunity.

Beltran- will he return to Whittier district?

Ted Clarke- Gladstone was a fiasco. Maybe this is the one for him.

Winchell- Turned around Cal’s morbid offense and is a Santa Fe alum. Front runner IMO

The big difference between Mahlestede and Pierson lies in the number of kids they were able to attract to the program. In a typical season with Jack, the Chiefs had over 250 young men to fill three squads…a remarkable feat of salesmanship indeed. It seems clear in retrospect that Pierson was selected because he made his bosses feel warm and fuzzy, instead of making prospective players feel that way.
