  1. Former Washington Football Team tight end Jordan Reed announced he is retiring due to lingering issues from multiple concussions. Reed spent  seven seasons with Washington and spent last year with the San Francisco 49ers. 
  2. The Dodgers beat the Seattle Mariners 1-0 Tuesday to improve their record to 14-4. 
  3. The Pittsburgh Steelers signed head coach Mike Tomlin to a three-year contract extension. 
  4. Vanessa Bryant and the Kobe Bryant estate elected not to renew their partnership with Nike. 
  5. UCLA sophomore Johnny Juzang announced that he is entering the NBA draft but will not retain an agent leaving his option open to return to school. 
  6. Gonzaga freshman guard Jalen Suggs announced he is entering the NBA draft. 
  7. “Crazy it is what is love you guys…. we did some that had never been done and I’m thankful for u guys.” – Sierra Vista offensive lineman Anthony Rosas on Twitter on Co Head Coach Matt Villasenor stepping down. 
     
  8. Softball: Kassandra Gewecke threw a 3 hitter and struck out 8 to lead Temple City to a 12-0 shutout of San Marino Tuesday.  
  9. Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback/ NFL Broadcaster Tony Romo turns 41 today. 
  10. On this day in 2001 the Atlanta Falcons selected Virginia Tech quarterback Michael Vick with the first pick in the NFL draft.
