(Baldwin Park) – Senior running back Luis Carmen led the Dons to a 49-6 victory over visiting Ontario Friday night at Sierra Vista.
Carmen started off early with a 58-yard blast for his first score just two minutes into the game. The two-point conversion from Fransico Rochin put the score at 8-0.
Jaguars would then lose the ball on a big hit from Jonthan Vazquez and fumble recovery by Richard Garcia.
The Dons gave the ball right back on a fumble when Eli Nieves found the loose ball.
Gabriel Garcia picked off Ontario’s Juan Jimenez and took it 45 yards to the house but a flag brough it back. That would set up Carmen’s second score of the game – a two-yard plunge late in the first quarter to make it 14-0 after a missed two-point conversion.
Sierra Vista’s defense flew around all game and forced a Jaguars punt.
Again Carmen found the endzone running over Ontario defenders scoring from 26 yards but another missed two-point kept it at 20-0.
Jimenez got the Jaguars on the board when he got the option and went 77 yards making it 20-6 after a missed extra point.
Carmen answered right back for the Dons with a 68-yard trip to paydirt – his fourth of the game.
Garcia took over the running duties the second half for Sierra Vista scoring three times on runs of 3, 10 and 35-yards.
Carmen had 304-yards on 11 carries and four scores. Garcia had six touches for 73 yards and three touchdowns. Rochin chipped in with 38 yards on the ground.
Jimenez and Daniel Park led the Ontario offense with big runs throughout the game.
Sierra Vista will stay at home and host Nogales Thursday night, while Ontario will travel to San Gorgonio.
