Not Ranch18 but, if watching football for the last 20 years has taught me anything it’s that things are never as good as we would like and never as bad as we think. Without making excuses, players need to be ready to step up and perform, obviously that didn’t happen vs Monrovia or Montebello.
@TheRanch18
– Don Lugo: Barely beat them and they’re -30s on Calpreps
– Bell Gardens: Soft team beat a softer team that is -20s on Calpreps
– Monrovia: Not even a competitive game against a -6 team on Calpreps
– Montebello: Was supposed to be a “bounce back” win… lost big to a -34 team on Calpreps
Consistently bad against cupcakes… not sorry to burst your bubble there, big guy.
But hey, there’s always next year.
@ Moors: I’ll talk about Alhambra’s 2021 team, instead of the teams that you brought up, because I believe it was much more like this year’s squad. That team, like our current one, had a lot of underclassmen and a good number of seniors who had little to no varsity experience going into the season.
The 2021 team went 1-4 in its nonleague games but turned it around and went on a 5-2 run all the way to the Division 14 semifinals. This year’s team has a similar opportunity at this point, and only time will tell which way it will end up going.
To say that Coach Bergstrom and his assistants don’t care does an extreme disservice to them; they enjoy winning, and they are taking this losing streak hard. They’re a hardworking, enthusiastic group that is dedicated to coaching the game of football every season, no matter the talent level or experience of the players.
@ Simple Really: I guess your memory only goes back to the beginning of the 2021 season. Alhambra had a 20-3 run a short time earlier, and with mostly the same coaching staff. How quickly people forget, conveniently or otherwise.
@ Anonymous: I think Alhambra High is pretty good academically, but I believe that there’s always room for improvement. I’d like to see the day when we finally catch up to Mark Keppel! However, we are fairly competitive right now.
Your comment about Coach Bergstrom being the current athletic director at AHS is uninformed and incorrect. He served as AD for just one year, back in 2019-2020, when no one else wanted the job. Maya Joko was the athletic director during the last three years, and Michael Humphreys took over the position at the beginning of this school year.
I also don’t understand your remark about the “downfall” of the AHS baseball program.
The varsity team struggled in 2022, which was its first season without Coach Gewecke at the helm, but it still made the playoffs. The fact that Coach Ramirez, who played for Gewecke, came in late because the previous hire left abruptly, didn’t help.
The team did better last season under Coach Ramirez and again made the playoffs. I don’t think anyone has grounds to complain much about the baseball program at AHS.
@Anonymous,
Be as upset as you want with ER fans, but to call their program bad is just stupid and flat out not true. They have been one of the more consistent programs in the sgv area for the past 10 years or so now.
What is bad to you? In todays age you have the upper echelon programs in the SGV La Serna, Amat, Charter Oak, Bonita, Glendora amongst others etc, these are schools that get some very good talent and have some great coaching. El Rancho falls into the 2nd tier of the SGV, anywhere from top 10-20 yearly, avg to below avg talent with excellent coaching, always one of the top producing offenses, All league players, all area players all cif players. If a program like El Rancho has consistently been “bad” like you say then I know a number of programs in the SGV that would love to be just as “bad” as El Rancho.
ER program just plain bad. But you got the die hards who have no clue what a good program is.
we left 3 touchdowns on the board….. no excuses… boys need to get it together.
@Anonymous
idk what you mead about pad stats, mY QB/RB/WR still has more yards than yours in the last 3 games.
Pasadena y’aLs suck…. stats suck.. and this was a PAD game
Los Al … moral victory not… from what ive been told your lucky LosAL kept shooting themselves on the foot or the game would have been over by halftime… enjoy your moral victory.. (here’s a cookie)
Warren… take another moral victory out of this… lol… but sorry to burst your bubble bc warren is not the warren you think it is and pretty much used you as a practice pad to get over the numerous injury they have before they travel.
on the plus side now we can differentiate between TWO Anonymous….
The Ranch’s TROLL #1
can you please refer yourself as The Ranch’s TROLL #2
see now I can always refer to you guys and DUMB & DUMBER #SELLOUTS LOL
FACTS
It’s exciting to see programs that have been on life support are beginning to show signs of life. Big changes in the MVL this season.
Athletic Directors should not be coaches #conflictofinterest
@TheRanch18
ER sucks lol
Weres Ron at to defend coach Eric been saying it for years coach Eric ain’t the answer and now he destroying the whole athletics program being the AD look at the down fall of the baseball program. Alhambra becoming a academic school unfortunately
ER moved the ball well, couldn’t punch it in when it mattered. Monrovia has some solid athletes.
Nothing worth watching in the Del Rio. Time to change channels.
El Rancho not so great when they don’t play down. Couldn’t pad your stats this week.
Let’s give a some Credit to Lil Cantwell Sacred Heart of Mary from Montebello for the past 2 weeks for their wins over Montebello & La Canada! No one gave them a chance after their opening loss!
The stat man will come n talk about 2018 n 2019 lol. You guys need a new coach that cares !!
Monrovia 43 El Rancho 13.
Alhambra going down to lowly TC is all part of the multi-year (becoming multi-decade) scheme to make incremental strides toward improving. Put another way, the Moors are horrible now and have been horrible as long as memory serves. Look for boatloads of the same so long as the guys running this show stay in place.
We just like that 💯
Burroughs 20 St Genevieve 3
Congrats to K. Pearson and his Warren kids…this was a textbook example of how to beat La Serna. Having a good passing attack is key, but solid line play and disciplined special teams are prerequisites to unleash that aerial act. Few high school teams have this complete package, which is why most teams suck. Warren doesn’t suck, and I can’t wait to see how they fare against their cross-town rival this season.
What’s going on at Alhambra losing to temple city really!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anonymous… just change your name to
“TheRanch18’s TROLL “ lol
Your prediction was close.
No sugar coating, ER offense needs to clean it up in the red zone, you put those red zone chances away and it’s a much different game. ER came away from this game looking a little banged up. When I watched that Monrovia vs Bonita game I knew this would be a tough game for ER. Get to work ER!!
@TheRanch18 🤣🤣🤣
Villa Park, coached by Dusan Ancich, scored Thursday’s best win by beating Upland. Upland is the team that beat La Habra last week, so they’re not chopped liver. Much love to the best football offspring of old man Marion…I liked you at Cal and am glad you’ve found a supportive administration in the OC.
Wildcats hungry after Palm Springs ducked us. The Dons will be run over again. 44-7 Monrovia running clock.
LETS GO DONS!!!!!
BRING ANOTHER VICTORY HOME FOR
