  1. New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered a tear of his left Achilles tendon on the fourth play for the offense Monday night and is out for the year. The Jets went on to beat the Buffalo Bills 22-16 in overtime on Monday Night Football. 
  2. Zach Wilson, who replaced Rodgers, will be the Jets starting quarterback going forward. 
  3. Former NFL receiver Mike Williams, 36, has passed away after an accident at a construction site last week. 
  4. The Dodgers have removed pitcher Julio Urias’ locker from the clubhouse. Also two of his Dodger Stadium murals have been covered up and all of his merchandise has been removed from on-site stores in the wake of his September 3 arrest on suspicion of felony domestic violence. 
  5. Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen threw three interceptions and lost a fumble in the 22-16 OT loss to the Jets Monday night. 
  6. AP College Football Top 5: 1. Georgia 2. Michigan 3. Florida State 4. Texas 5. USC. Colorado is 18. 
  7. Ohio State HC Ryan Day named Kyle McCord the starting quarterback for the remainder of the season. McCord had been in a QB battle with Devin Brown. 
  8. St. Paul at Downey, Friday night 7:00 p.m. 
  9. USC has scored 178 points in the first three games. 
  10. LeBron James plans to commit to Team USA next summer along with Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis, Jayson Tatum and Draymond Green.

    The St. Paul-Downey clash has the potential to become a major event on the scale of Downey-Warren. We’ve got the good coaching angle, but also the neighboring city angle, and the private vs. public thing to boot. Can’t wait for this one.
