- Craig Counsell left as Milwaukee Brewers manager to take over as the manager of the Chicago Cubs. The Cubs signed Counsell to a five-year, $40 million contract. Counsell takes over for David Ross who was fired.
- The New York Mets hired Carlos Mendoza as their new manager. Mendoza has spent the last 15 years in the New York Yankees organization.
- The Cleveland Guardians hired Stephen Vogt as their new manager to replace Terry Francona.
- In six years at UCLA, Chip Kelly is 33-32 overall, 0-1 in only Bowl game and 2-3 vs. USC.
- South Pasadena running back Jason Hong finished the season with 2,064 yards rushing, 39 touchdowns and 0 fumbles.
- Temple City softball pitcher Kassandra Gewecke signed with Ohio State.

A few years ago, El Monte had a RB with lots of yards and TD’s and led the team to a state title. Don’t know the totals, but they had to be close to Hong. Hopefully Hong will play at the next level
