UPDATE!! The 2nd Annual SGV Bowl is set for Saturday night January 13 at Covina District Field. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. The West will be coached by Baldwin Park head coach Robert Maxie and the East will be coached by Nogales head coach Matt Villasenor. Last year’s game was played at Charter Oak High School.

Hey guys, how you doing? I’m reaching out to you guys because I need some support with what I’m trying to accomplish. Long story short, I went to the “SGV Bowl game” last night and what I saw going on was unacceptable. The halftime show had a rapper that was saying everything beyond acceptable with kids and the elders around. What’s worse, is that the players were celebrating and acting chaotic and making it crazy and unsafe like it was a rap concert. For these young men to act like that as a football player is a disgrace to what football is all about and what a young man is supposed to be. I know you guys honor and respect the game of Football like I do so I need you guys to reply to my email and send it to everybody you know for support. My goal is to make sure this never happens again and to teach them what football is supposed to be all about. I’ve already sent 3 emails about this and received a call from
Fred Robledo this morning. He seemed to be “understanding and concerned” but was still kind of downplaying it so that’s why I wanted to get some more support. The better game is in May. No one from last years game signed or went D one from this game, all hype, no bite!
The lights went off on automatic pilot , and they cancelled last several minutes of last years game if I remember correctly ….::the packed house was not given prorated refund

My main concern is that they have available to see injury and liability coverage for all players, adequate medical personel and first class helmets and pads. Players should not sign liability waivers.

Really wish these kids and parents would wake up and stop supporting these 2 coaches made up all star games, these kids need to play in the real all star games with qualified deserving coaches. Our kids deserve so much better

They should do this in the dirt over at ER. No touchdowns or field goals, only a wild melee to see which group can mess the place up more than what the school board has already done.
