Interesting history on the naming of leagues which I was never aware of. Freeway league should then be renamed La Fullbuena league !

Releaguing may occur, although it is difficult to secure the votes from the Foothill Area schools: from the high desert to La Mirada and every school in between.
BTW – Whitmont stood for Whittier schools and Montebello schools. Through releaguing, we now have the Almont league: 3 Alhambra schools and the 3 Montebello schools.

That’s a year or two away but that is one of the options that could happen with re-leaguing. From what I have heard it is also the best option.

Ja Ja, these coaches are not loyal. Two years later you will be writing about them again for a new school hire.

Old Whitmont Guy with the receipts. Now since you’re so good at this, are there any truths to the rumors that the old league in your name is making a comeback without La Serna?

I said on this blog about a month ago that the two coaches who would be named at Cal and Whittier would be Coach Winchell and Coach Cineceros. Both were finalists for Cal, whoever got Cal the other would be Whittier’s choice. Cal named Coach Winchell about 3 weeks ago and Coach Cineceros interviewed today for Whittier.
