What a great game. Public was up 7-0 with about 2 minutes left. Private scored to make it 7-7. Public with under a min threw back to back pick sixes. 21-7 final. Both team drove the ball and both teams had great goal line stances. Atmosphere was awesome. A very nice crowd, A lot of food vendors along the field, plenty of security. Both teams had breakfast together before engaging on the field. Really nice event. Great to see the marines trucks and all the veterans in attendance.
What happened in the game?…..not a peep or shred , understandably
Yes The Privates are loaded and should blow out The Publics. I hope it’s not too bad.
I understand the privates are loaded with players from SJB, Amat, St. Francis, SP, Cathedral. Should be a close game.
I agree with your general thoughts and premise here. However , am I being negative or realistic ????
This is the third upstart all-star game ( money grab ?) in recent weeks and I can’t help but wonder if this doesn’t dilute the meaning of all-star game , just as the meaning of CIF championship has been diluted by new format .
I see Keppel has 3 all-stars ; this is great for kids and school , but you would think with 3 all star caliber players that they might be able to occasionally score or stop someone!
I’m certain that if you’re a parent or coach of one of these players , you would be happy and proud . There are some good players on the roster. Anyone choosing to attend does have to pay $10 and thus it will be only parents and close family in attendance ,,::
In the big picture I can only see this as evidence of the devolution of SGV football.
Have fun at the game and good luck to your young man selected to the game !
Well at least this game seems to have a purpose. I also like we are being told up front where proceeds are going. Low Profile I agree its getting a bit much with all these games. But to raise money for homeless Vets sounds like a great cause. Also like the mixture of public schools.
Hey Low Profile,
It’s sad to hear people so negative. I’m sure that the parents and players are excited to participate in the all star game. For some of these players, it may be their last time putting on the pads. The beauty of it is that you don’t need to purchase a ticket to the game. So relax, and please stay home.
Please no
Not another all star game . Seriously , not even if we have rosters
