(Covina) – Keanu Tauvao rushed for 182 yards and three touchdowns to lead Northview to a 40-10 rout of San Dimas Friday night at Covina District Field. The Vikings kept their perfect season intact with their seventh straight victory.
Northview led 27-10 after three quarters and then scored twice in the fourth to salt it away. Although the Vikes are known for their running attack they struck first on a long pass play in the first quarter. Erik Jimenez hit Jaishon Bledsoe on a quick out and Bledsoe did the rest outrunning the San Dimas secondary for a 69-yard touchdown.
Early in the second quarter Tauvao scored on a 14-yard run to cap an 82-yard drive to put Northview up 13-0.

San Dimas was stopped on fourth down on its previous possession but broke through later in the quarter. The Saints drive stalled on the Northview 13-yard line but Brady Arriaga kicked a 30-yard field goal to make it 13-3.
The Vikes answered on the next series as Jimenez kept it and went six yards for the score to finish a 65-yard march with 1:45 left in the second. Northview took the 20-3 lead into halftime.
Northview took advantage of a short field after a punt return set the Vikes up at the San Dimas 24. On the first play it was Tauvao, who else? that took the ball and rumbled 24 yards for a touchdown and a 27-3 lead.
The Saints had one last murmur of protest when Tristan Fierro broke loose for a 45-yard TD sprint with 2:50 left in the third quarter. However that was the last time the Saints scored.

Northview tacked on two more scores in the fourth quarter on a two-yard run by Tauvao, his third score of the night, and a six-yard jaunt by Robert Lucero who replaced Jimenez at quarterback as the Vikes hit the 40 mark.
Jimenez threw for 103 yards and a touchdown and also ran for a score to support Tauvao’s big night.
For San Dimas Fierro rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown but beyond that the Saints were held in check on the ground. Julian Vigil had three catches for 60 yards and ran for 40 yards for San Dimas.
Northview improved to 7-0 on the season with the victory and with three games remaining the Vikes have a good opportunity to run regular season table. San Dimas fell to 5-2 overall and 1-1 in the Valle Vista.
Northview is so good their fans don’t even comment. How many transfers do they have or are they all just local boys like La Serna’s team.
