  1. Colorado’s Travis Hunter won the Heisman Trophy Saturday.  
  2. Elijhaa Penny has stepped down as the head football coach at Glenn. 
  3. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes suffered a high ankle sprain in Sunday’s win over the Cleveland Browns and will be evaluated throughout the week to determine if he can play Saturday against Houston. 
  4. Freddie Freeman’s walk off grand slam ball from Game 1 of the World Series was sold for $1.56 million at an auction. 
  5. The San Francisco 49ers will suspend linebacker De’Vondre Campbell for the final three games of the season for refusing to enter last Thursday’s game against the Rams. 
  6. With Seattle losing to Green Bay Sunday night the Rams are now in first place in the NFC West. 
  7. NFL Hall of Fame receiver Randy Moss revealed last Friday that he is being treated for cancer and is recovering from major surgery. 
  8. The Detroit Lions lost running back David Montgomery (sprained MCL) and defensive tackle Alim McNeill (torn ACL) for the season due to injuries. 
  9. The Chiefs waived running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire Monday.
  10. South Pasadena’s David Ortega was named Rio Hondo League MVP. Ortega had 103 tackles and 3 sacks from his linebacker position and ran for 703 yards and 9 touchdowns at running back.

    I sure hope Moss is not going to do Chemo, the cancer treatment with a 97% failure rate. Chemo does, however, have a 100% success rate of making doctors richer.

    Great news for the Glenn Football program. He ran that program into the dirt the 2 years he was there with the off the field problems with the 2 coaches, to having 30-40 kids in the program in his first year, to having 15 at the end of this season, canceling the rivalry game against Norwalk because of the above mention of the 2 coaches eventhough the school cited the lack of players, and the canceling of the last game of the season vs. Pioneer due to the low number of players. That just goes to show you, just because you make it to the NFL doesn’t mean you can coach or run a program. Let’s hope the admin finally make a good decision in hiring the next head coach.
