ER’s conference, Metro Alliance Conference 12 (MAC-12) vote to create three 4 team leagues for football. METRO-ER, SCHURR, EL MONTE, and BELL GARDENS. ALLIANCE- SAN GABRIEL, ALHAMBRA, MONTEBELLO, and SOUTH EL MONTE. CONFERENCE 12-MOUNTAIN VIEW, ROSEMEAD, MARK KEPPEL, and ARROYO. Each league will have 2 automatic qualifiers to the CIFFSS Football Playoffs. With the major exception of Girl’s golf, which will include Whittier Christian, ( 2 four teams league) most will be two 6 teams leagues, the METRO and The ALLIANCE. You need to remember that not all of the MAC-12 schools field teams in every boys and girls sport, so the number of teams in any league maybe 4, 5, or 6. There is, of course, the possibility of all 12 schools being in just the METRO LEAGUE for s specific sport. The MAC-12, since it is a new endeavor, is meeting on a regular basis to slot teams into a competitive equality league system.

5-5 auto qualifier and a chance to make a run in D9-12 depending on calpreps.
Instead of creating leagues with only four members, it’s time for CIF to dispense with leagues altogether. Let the various programs play whoever they wish, with CIF’s computers making the call on postseason participation and bracketing.
@ FBFan: Yes, the current playoff system stinks. In addition, there should be fewer leagues, with more teams in each league. Teams should be playing more than three or four league games, especially since overall records don’t seem to be valued that much anymore.
You are correct, there is little benefit to going 10-0. 6-4, 5-5 and a deep playoff run is much better than a 1st round exit in an impossible division.
This is a very good schedule, ER could realistically go anywhere from 4-6 to as good as 10-0. Tons of returning starters and a couple of transfers, could be another one of those deep runs from Medrano.

@Anonymous,
If you want a deep playoff run, you should hope for 4-6 instead of 10-0. Sad part of the reality of the new playoff system.
