7—On this date in 2014, the Cleveland Cavaliers fired head coach Mike Brown. It was the third time in the last four years that Brown had been fired. In 2026 Brown has coached the New York Knicks into the NBA’s Eastern Conference Finals.
8—USA Hockey Olympic hero, Jack Hughes turns 25 today.
9—Caitlin Clark gets Tee’d, but scores 24 points and dishes 9 assists as the Indiana Fever defeat the Los Angeles Sparks last night, 87-78, at Crypto.

Hey Tim, how about a feature on defunct Div. III college football programs? Maybe even a photo of each programs uniforms. Just a suggestion.
From T. Peterson: We’re going to be covering DIV III football now with APU bringing back the program in D3. But not sure about defunct programs. Haha !
In professional sports, a lot depends on the support a coach receives from ownership. Brown is getting it from the Knicks organization, whereas Pete Carroll did not get it from the Raiders.
