Old School Mid Valley Top 12

Temple City’s offensive line is well below average. If quarterback Mikal Quintanilla had the slightest bit of time to think pass before run, I truly believe the Rams would be in a much better place. Unfortunately, a 2-8 or 1-9 record is in the realm of possibility. Arcadia on the other hand looks real good at the skill positions and quarterback Myles Carr is as advertised. He can score with his legs and with his arm and it will be interesting to see what kind of damage the Apaches can do in the Pacific.

Don’t read too much into Monrovia’s melt down at San Dimas. The Wildcats looked the better team for most that game and they simply let it get away from them. They are still the cream of the crop and will run away with the Rio Hondo. Rosemead’s resounding win over San Marino makes you wonder how much closer it would have been with running back Kwame Do in the lineup for the Titans. Regardless, Matt Fregoso went beast mode and the Panthers disposed of SM. Week three is history, let’s see where they rank heading into week four.

.) Monrovia ( 1-2) – The Wildcats are definitely the best of the bunch and after Friday’s crushing loss at San Dimas everyone is thinking re-match.

.) Rosemead (2-1) – Two hundred yards and three scores from Fregoso is plenty to move the Panthers past Arroyo this week.

.) Arroyo (3-1) – QB Eddie Frederico was enough to pull out a W against Montebello but getting thrown into the fire against Hart is no easy task. Bye week to rest up Steven Rivera comes at the perfect time.

.) Arcadia (1-2) – Will be interesting to see how its O-line holds up against stiffer competition.

.) Alhambra (2-2) – The Moors climbing up the ladder. At South Pasadena should be a good one.

.) El Monte (1-2) – I like the Lions here because they played La Puente tough.

.) San Gabriel (1-3) – The Matadors finally got off the mat but a stiff test looms against Rosemead. Entering league 1-4 play looks probable.

.) Mt. View (1-2) – Just give the ball to running back Josymer Ulloa.

.) South El Monte (1-2) – The defense is allowing 34 points a game.

.) Temple City (0-3) – I want to be a believer in head coach Mike McFarland but that offensive line is offensive in pass protection. With that said, the running game is enough to move them up a spot.

.) Gabrielino (2-2) – Gabby is blowing out who they should and getting blown out by who they should…I don’t know why I was half way on the Gabby train, but I’m completely off it now.

.) Duarte (0-2) – The Falcons finally held their opponent under 20 points, they also didn’t play.
