1. The Dodgers beat Arizona 9-3 to cut the magic number to two.

2. Tre Maddden is the first USC running back to begin the season with three consecutive 100 yard games since Marcus Allen in 1981.

3. Dodger outfielder Matt Kemp returns to the starting lineup for the first time since July 21st and has four hits and 3 RBI.

4. The LA KISS, the Arena Football League’s new entry, has named Bob McMillen head coach. McMillen was the AFL coach of the year with the Chicago Rush in 2013. The team opens the season in March at the Honda Center.

5. The Washington Nationals sweep a doubleheader from the Braves a day after the shooting tragedy nearby at a navy yard.

6. Northview has outscored its opponents 113-7 in its first three games.

7. Pomona junior quarterback Manny Lua: 20-38- 399 yards, 4 TD, 2 Int. Pomona has outscored its first three opponents 120-14.

8. Pomona at Northview at Covina District Field Friday October 11.

9. Diamond Bar junior receiver Cordell Broadus: 16-183 yards, 1 TD.
