Mark Bates takes over at Village Christian
(Sun Valley) – Village Christian has hired former Oaks Christian DC Mark Bates to lead its football program sources confirmed Wednesday. Bates, a Village Christian alum, was a key assistant during the Bill Redell era at Oaks Christian.
Bates, who takes over for Jay Schroeder, was named as head coach and director of football operations for the Crusaders. Bates applied for the Oaks Christian head coach job two years ago but was not hired. Bates spent 13 years as an assistant at Oaks Christian. Last year Village finished 3-7 and 1-3 in the Olympic League.
