(Pasadena) – Ajon Efferson sank 10 of 12 free throws in the fourth quarter and led all scorers with 27 points to propel Pasadena to a 65-57 win over Crescenta Calley Friday night in Pacific League action.
Efferson had 15 coming into the final frame before scoring 12 of the Bulldogs 16 points in the fourth. Crescenta Valley went cold in the last stanza making just two of 11 shots and went over three minutes without scoring a point.
***Both teams came out hot in the first quarter. Efferson scored 10 points in the quarter and Pasadena led 21-17 after one.
***Eric Patten scored 10 points in the second quarter for CV mostly down in the paint but the Falcons were still down 36-31 at the half.
***Tyrek Adams ignited the Pasadena crowd with a couple of slams in the third quarter. He had nine in the third as the Bulldogs maintained a three point advantage at 49-46 heading into the fourth.
***Adams finished with 18 but no other Bulldog player was in double figures.
***Patten led CV with 22 but after that the scoring tailed off. Connor Van Ginkel was next in the scoring column with eight and Berj Krikorian scored seven.
***Patten fouled out mid way through the fourth quarter.
***The Falcons were 0-6 from three point land in the fourth quarter and 5 of 15 overall.
***The game was played in front of a packed house at the Dog House including a big CV contingent that set up shop at the North end of the gym and stood the entire game.
***Rayjon Moore had seven points for the Dogs including a big three in the second quarter and Nick Brown added six.
***Pasadena improved to 9-8 overall and 4-1 in league while Crescenta Valley fell to 9-8 and 3-2.
