Canyon, Texas – The APU Cougars came back from a 21-7 first half deficit to beat the West Texas A&M Buffaloes 27-24 to open the 2015 season.The Cougars were led by Chad Jeffries and Kurt Scoby. Jeffries was 17 of 32 for 269 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Scoby had 78 yards on 22 carries and two receptions for 38 yards and a score.

The final score came from Jeffries to Charter Oak alum Josiah Thropay from 27 yards away .
