El Monte’s Booth Commits to Utah State

(Cerritos) -Former El Monte running back Davon Booth, who has spent the last two years playing at Cerritos College, has committed to Utah State he confirmed Monday.

Booth led El Monte to a CIF Championship and a State title 2019 and was named Mid Valley Sports Player of the Year. He was also named 2018 MVS Player of the Year. Some of his other awards include Division 13 MVP in 2018 and Division 12 MVP in 2019 as well as two-time Mission Valley League MVP.

In 2018 Booth rushed for 2,429 yards and 31 touchdowns averaging over 15 yards per carry. He topped that in 2019 running for 2,935 yards and 36 touchdowns in 16 games as he averaged 12.3 yards per carry.

He was the leader of a team that not only won the only won the CIF Division title but the State championship as well in Northern California.

Booth has been honing his skills the last two years at Cerritos College preparing for the next level. In his most recent game he rushed for 172 yards and a touchdown.

    True Lion. Funny how you think that the coach makes the player. You must be a C average fan if you were Better you would know C like all the other coaches are only in on it for the personal glory or else your C would have never left your Lions Den!

    Relax, Like coach C had anything to do with it either. He got this offer while at JC, befire you go pumping your/his chest. Booth deserves the credit here, not his coaches. His coaches just did what they’re supposed to do.

    Lion @ you have your coaches mixed up he played for Coach C and staff STATE CHAMPS 2019……. New coach hasn’t done at thing as of yet . Good luck on your next season!

    Should have never let COACH C go ! Zero guts administration …………….

    Wow, thats what I like to see. It looks like Spathia and Co. are doing a great job at El Monte, way to go Lions. Cant wait to see who they will send to D1 next.
