  1. The Palm Springs at Monrovia game scheduled for Friday night has been canceled due to flooding in Palm Springs and freeway closures. 
  2. El Rancho running back Anthony Orihuela ran for 231 yards and four touchdowns on 37 carries last Friday night in a 38-35 win over Don Lugo. 
  3. Denver Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy was carted off the practice field Thursday with a right hamstring injury. He is expected to miss several weeks. 
  4. The Dodgers are 78-48, 12.5 games ahead of the second place Arizona Diamondbacks, after a 9-3 win over the Cleveland Guardians Thursday. 
  5. The Angels’ Shohei Ohtani will not pitch again this season after an MRI revealed a UCL tear. However he may continue to hit in their lineup. 
  6. Washington Nationals pitcher Stephen Strasburg has officially decided to retire after a 13-year career. Strasburg, who has had multiple injuries, has made just eight starts since leading the Nationals to their first World Series title in 2019. 
  7. The San Francisco 49ers announced Sam Darnold will be the backup quarterback to Brock Purdy. Trey Lance will be third string for now. 
  8. The Lakers plan to unveil a statue of Kobe Bryant outside of Crypto.com Arena on February 8. 
  9. La Serna at Los Alamitos, Veterans Stadium (Long Beach), Friday night 7:00 p.m. 
  10. Former La Serna receiver Jake George, who was at Arizona, has bounced back.and is playing at El Camino College.
