  1. Former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has been named the new head coach at North Carolina. 
  2. Former Florida/ Mississippi St. head coach Dan Mullen has been named the new head coach at UNLV. 
  3. Former USC quarterback, Malachi Nelson, who transferred to Boise St. after the 2023 season, plans to enter the transfer portal again. 
  4. Former USC/ NFL quarterback Carson Palmer has been named the new head football coach at Santa Margarita High School. 
  5. Rich Rodriguez is returning to West Virgina as the head football coach. Rodriguez previously coached at West Virginia from 2001-2007 before leaving to take over as the head coach at Michigan.  
  6. Charter Oak quarterback Corin Berry was named the Offensive Player of the Year for the Sierra League. 
  7. The Rams beat the San Francisco 49ers 12-6 on Thursday Night Football to improve to 8-6 on the year. The 49ers dropped to 6-8 and were eliminated from playoff contention.
  8. Colorado’s two-way star Travis Hunter was named the AP Player of the Year. 
  9. The Boston Red Sox acquired left-hander Garrett Crochet from the Chicago White Sox for four prospects. 
  10. The Maimi Heat are listening to trade offers for All-Star guard Jimmy Butler.

    @ #7: This game was solid proof that a team can win with defense and a good placekicker. Not a touchdown was scored by either side last night.
