- The Lakers lost to the Houston Rockets 110-98 in Game 4 of their first round Western Conference Playoff series Sunday night. The Lakers lead the series 3-1.
- The Kings lost to Colorado 5-1 Sunday and were swept by the Avalanche in four games in their first round Western Conference Playoff series.
- The Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Denver Nuggets 112-96 Saturday to take a 3-1 lead in their first round Western Conference playoff series. But Minnesota guard Donte DiVincenzo suffered a torn Achilles and is out for the year and star Anthony Edwards hyperextended his left knee and will miss multiple weeks.
- Former El Monte star running back Davon Booth signed with the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent Saturday. Booth played at Mississippi State last year and rushed for over 2,100 yards and 18 touchdowns in his college career.
- Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia, who was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy, was not drafted in the 2026 NFL draft.
- The Boston Red Sox fired manager Alex Cora Saturday after a 10-17 start. Chad Tracy was named interim manager.
- The Dodgers marked the 50th anniversary of Rick Monday rescuing the American flag from being burned in a 1976 game against the Cubs on Saturday. Monday, who was playing center field for the Cubs on April 25,1976 when he rescued the flag, held up the preserved flag and was honored in a ceremony before the game.
- The New York Knicks beat the Atlanta Hawks 114-98 Saturday to even their first-round Eastern Conference playoff series at 2-2.

- The loss to Colorado Sunday marked the last game for the Kings’ Anze Kopitar who is retiring after 20 years. Kopitar will leave as the Kings all-time leader in games played (1,521), assists (864), points (1,316) and third in goals scored (452). He played on two Stanley Cup championship teams – 2012 and 2014. He was the captain of the Kings for the last 10 years and is considered a first ballot Hall of Famer.
