1. Arcadia’s Jordan Vogel has committed St. Mary’s College to further his academic and athletic (baseball) career.

2. The Baltimore Ravens waived quarterback Diego Pavia. Pavia was signed as an undrafted free agent after he became the first Heisman Trophy finalist in 12 years to go undrafted.

3. President Donald Trump welcomed the World Series champion Dodgers to the White House Thursday.

4. The Las Vegas Raiders signed number one overall draft pick quarterback Fernando Mendoza to a four-year, $57.27 million guaranteed deal.

5. With Mendoza under contract, Rams quarterback Ty Simpson is the only first-round pick left unsigned.

6. “Yes, we will be fielding a team this year. We are very inexperienced. I have only two players with varsity experience. It’s really as simple as a numbers game. We only had 40 players at the end of last year and 21 of those were seniors.” – Pasadena head football coach Ron Jones on rumors that Pasadena would not field a team this year.

7. Wide receiver Tyreek Hill, currently a free agent, says he still has “no power” in his recovering left leg. Hill has had two surgeries since he suffered a dislocated knee and multiple ligament tears in Week 4 last season against the New York Jets while playing for the Miami Dolphins.

8. The Dodgers took two out of three from the Philadelphia Phillies with a 9-5 win on Wednesday. They will open a three-game series with the New York Mets Friday night.

9. On this day in 1993 New York Mets pitcher Anthony Young lost a record 27th consecutive game.

10. Former MLB slugger Barry Bonds turns 62 today. Bonds hit a record 73 home runs for the San Francisco Giants in 2001 and holds the all-time MLB career home run record with 762. Bonds is not in the Baseball Hall of Fame due to alleged use of steroids.
