1. Former MLB pitcher Tommy John, who won 288 games passed away Saturday at the age of 83. John, a four-time All-Star, was the namesake behind the elbow surgery by Dr. Frank Jobe in 1974 that prolonged his career another 14 years. John played 26 seasons in the major leagues which is tied for third in MLB history. John pitched for the Dodgers from 1972-’74 and 1976-’78 and the Angels from 1982-’85.

2. The Dodgers lost to the Milwaukee Brewers 6-2 Sunday and lost three out of four in the series at Dodger Stadium. The Dodgers still lead the second-place San Diego Padres by seven games in the NL West.

3. The Rams beat the Kansas City Chiefs 20-12 Saturday in the first preseason game. Rams quarterback Ty Simpson completed 21 of 25 for 190 yards and two touchdowns.

4. Pass rusher Von Miller signed a one-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys.

5. Arizona Cardinals rookie running back Jeremiyah Love has a high ankle sprain and is unlikely to play the rest of the preseason. Love had 11 carries for 58 yards Thursday night in a 27-14 win over the Las Vegas Raiders.

6. Minnesota Vikings veteran DB/LB Jamal Adams is out for the season due to a right knee injury he suffered Saturday in the Vikings 13-10 win over the New York Giants.

7. Aaron Donald worked out for the Rams for a second time Saturday as he continues the process to determine whether he wants to come out of retirement.

8. Former Dallas Cowboys right guard, a three-time All-Pro who played on the Cowboys first Super Bowl championship, has passed away at the age of 82.

9. Seattle Seahawks cornerback Devon Witherspoon signed a four-year, $132 million extension Saturday.
