
(Pico Rivera, CA) The El Rancho Dons hosted the Santa Fe Sentinels Friday night at Don Memorial Stadium and put on a display of defensive prowess shutting out Santa Fe 25-0 on a warm summer evening in Pico Rivera.
While holding Santa Fe to zero points, the stingy Don defense gave up a meager 169 yards of total offense to the Sentinels.
On the other side of the ball it was a solid performance by the El Rancho running back tandem of Braylon Morrison and Noah Garcia who combined for 191 yards on the ground and two scores. Morrison with 135 and Garcia with 56 and each finding paydirt.

Neither team got much going on their first two drives until late in the first quarter the Dons broke through.
Adrian Lopez found Jamie Garcia on a screen pass and Garcia did the rest winding his way 44 yards for the score. Ace Anaya booted through the extra point and with 2:34 left in the first El Rancho was up 7-0.
The Dons made it 10-0 early in the second when Anaya nailed a 30 yard field goal after a six play drive stalled at the Santa Fe 13. That would be the balance of the scoring for the remainder of the half.
With a little more than five minutes left in the third quarter, El Rancho lit up the scoreboard again with Noah Garcia scoring on an 18 yard run to cap a four play, 41 yard drive.

Anaya missed the extra point this time, but the Dons still led 16-0
Early in the final frame, another drive stalled at the Sentinel 13 and Anaya again booted through a 30-yard field goal to up the lead to 19-0.
The final point on the night came on an 11 yard run to finish off a a two play, 25 yard drive.
Up next for El Rancho is a trip to West Covina to take on the Bulldogs. Santa Fe will take next week off and prepare to host Fullerton on September 11.
