(Azusa) – Kimiko Nagata scored 15 points and Ava Yamashita added 11 to lead Gabrielino to a 38-23 win over Rosemead to win the CIF Division 5A Girls Basketball championship Friday at Felix Event Center.

The Chargers bolstered their secondary late last week with by signing safety Elijah Molden to a three-year, $18.5 million extension. Molden, who was a huge part of Jesse Minter’s defense last year, was acquired from the Tennessee Titans before the 2024 season.
