(Inglewood) – The Chargers trailed 2-0 at the end of the first quarter and only scored nine points in the first half but ultimately pulled away late in the game to beat New Orleans 26-8 Sunday before 70,240 fans at SoFi Stadium.

(Covina) – Bonita jumped out to a 28-0 lead early in the second quarter and rolled from there in a 49-21 rout of Charter Oak Friday night on the Chargers home field.

Covina — With a shot at a Hacienda league championship, the Covina Colts had to maneuver around another roadblock Friday night at Covina District Field against their Week 9 opponent, the South Hills Huskies. They did so by none other than senior quarterback Jake Duronslet, who maneuvered his way to a four-touchdown performance in the Colts 40-35 win over the Huskies.

The San Gabriel Matadors defeated Alhambra, 32-11, last Friday night to win the Tri-City Championship for the fourth straight season. San Gabriel had taken its first step toward securing the football title for the Alhambra Unified School District by beating Mark Keppel, 33-10, a week earlier.
