Montebello Outlasts Alhambra, 24-14

By Ron Vrooman (Alhambra) – The visiting Montebello Oilers took a big step toward a playoff spot by beating Alhambra, 24-14, in an Almont League game played Friday night at Moor Field. The Oilers (2-0 in league and 4-3 overall) are currently in a first-place tie with Schurr and Bell Gardens.

Everybody in the Top 12 won in Week 6 except Bishop Amat. No big changes this week but La Serna did jump up a spot with a big win and Amat’s loss. Bonita pressing Damien for the top as the Bearcats just keep on winning. Northview-San Dimas is huge this week.
